3 Days in Eureka Springs: The Perfect First-Time Itinerary

3 days in Eureka Springs gives you enough time to explore historic downtown, experience the town’s haunted side, and enjoy some of the surrounding Ozarks without rushing from one attraction to the next.
This 3-day Eureka Springs itinerary is how I’d plan a first trip. It includes some of my favorite experiences, plenty of time downtown, a few of Eureka Springs’ quirkier stops, and time to enjoy the outdoors.
You don’t need to follow it exactly. Think of it as a starting point for seeing the best of Eureka Springs while still leaving yourself time to wander and enjoy being there.

Your 3 Days in Eureka Springs at a Glance
Day 1: Crescent Hotel → Historic Downtown → Dinner Downtown → Crescent Hotel Ghost Tour
Day 2: Thorncrown Chapel → Downtown → East by West → Oracle & Sage → New Moon Spa
Day 3: White River → Blue Spring Heritage Center
Day 1: The Crescent Hotel, Downtown & a Ghost Tour
Start your 3 days in Eureka Springs in the heart of town with an easy first day centered around the Crescent Hotel and historic downtown.

Check In & Explore the Crescent Hotel: If you’re staying at the Crescent, take some time to explore the historic hotel and grounds after checking in. Even if you’re staying elsewhere, it’s worth stopping by before heading downtown.
➡️ Check Crescent Hotel Rates & Availability
Explore Historic Downtown: Spend the afternoon wandering downtown’s shops, galleries, historic buildings, and winding streets. Don’t over-plan this part of the day—Eureka Springs is best when you leave yourself time to explore whatever catches your attention.
Have Dinner Downtown: Grab dinner downtown before heading back to the Crescent for the ghost tour. I wouldn’t build the evening around a specific restaurant unless there’s somewhere you really want to try. Part of the fun here is choosing something while you’re exploring.
Take the Crescent Hotel Ghost Tour: End the night with the Crescent Hotel Ghost Tour. You’ll hear stories from the hotel’s long and sometimes strange history while exploring one of the places that helped give Eureka Springs its haunted reputation.

Day 2: Thorncrown Chapel, Downtown & Relaxation
Day 2 mixes one of Eureka Springs’ must-see landmarks with more time downtown and a relaxing end to the day.

Visit Thorncrown Chapel: Start the morning at Thorncrown Chapel, a beautiful glass chapel tucked into the woods just outside downtown. It doesn’t take long to visit, but it’s one place I wouldn’t skip on a first trip to Eureka Springs.
Spend More Time Downtown: Head back downtown and give yourself time to explore anything you missed on Day 1. Browse the shops, grab lunch, and then make a couple of my favorite quirky Eureka Springs stops.
See the Working Bunnies at East by West: Stop inside East by West to see the shop’s working bunnies. They help with small tasks around the store, and it’s exactly the kind of quirky little experience that makes Eureka Springs memorable.
Get an Aura Photo or Tarot Reading: For something a little different, stop at Oracle & Sage for an aura photo or tarot reading. We had an aura photo taken here, and it makes a fun, unusual souvenir from the trip.
Relax at New Moon Spa: Finish the afternoon with some downtime at New Moon Spa at the Crescent Hotel.Book a massage or another treatment if that’s your thing, or simply use this part of the day to slow down. One of the things I like about a Eureka Springs trip is that it doesn’t need to be packed from morning to night.
Day 3: The White River & Blue Spring
Spend your final morning enjoying the natural side of Eureka Springs before making one last stop on your way out of town.

Spend the Morning on the White River: Spend a few hours fishing or kayaking on the White River. We’ve spent time here both on the water and fishing, and it’s one of my favorite ways to see a completely different side of Eureka Springs. Kayaking is my pick if you want a relaxing morning on the river, while a guided fishing trip makes more sense if catching trout is the priority.
Visit Blue Spring Heritage Center: Before leaving the area, stop at Blue Spring Heritage Center. The vivid blue spring, gardens, and walking paths make this an easy final stop that doesn’t require a full day. We visited on our way out of town, and it was a peaceful way to end the trip.
If You Have More or Less Time
If You Only Have 2 Days: Follow Days 1 and 2 for the best introduction to Eureka Springs. If spending time on the water is more important to you than shopping or the spa, swap part of Day 2 for a morning on the White River.
If You Have 4 Days: Keep the three-day itinerary as planned and use your extra day for something you didn’t get to experience. Hike at Lake Leatherwood, spend time at Beaver Lake, add another haunted experience, or simply slow down and enjoy more time in downtown Eureka Springs.
